After reading my friend’s blog and her latest entry of summarizing up 2010, I’m finally motivated to do the same. Okay for those who have lost contact with me, I am pretty sure the first thing you want to know is:
“Did you really retain?”
“Why did you retain?”
“How did your parents react to it?”
“What have you been doing in 2010?”
SLOWLY, ONE BY ONE.
Yes, apparently (noticed I did not use unfortunately), I retained J1! At first it was really saddening, I even cried like wtf. Imagine you spent a year knowing so many new friends, just to end up being unable to graduate together. Then again, all of this is for you. It is definitely a better choice to retain knowing that you’re not really for J2 yet. Forcing yourself up will only kill yourself, besides, during application for jobs, no one is gonna bother about how many years you spent in jc, what they look at is just the highest rated certificate you hold.
I have to admit, I had been very lazy last year. Lack revision, skip lectures, busy leading a life that jc kids are not really supposed to have. I had so much fun! Of course the price has to be paid, last minute revision could have pulled me up but unfortunately I fell sick during the exams, and end up failing most of my subjects by 4 marks or less.
Family isn’t taking this hit well. Dad’s disappointed, Mum’s worried, and sis is just making fun of me. Honestly honestly honestly, there are times I really want to just escape from home! Hahah sounds so fun. The only problem is there’s no other place for me to stay at. Oh if you’re from my jc and don’t know me that well, one of my biggest problem is that I am not close with my family. Forget having dinner together around a table, leaving Sundays for family outings, etc, all that probably won’t happen. Plus at home I’m lacking very much in private space, especially with my elder sister around. She reads my formspring, reads my blog, has a bad attitude, tells my mum everything and enjoys it when I get some kind of punishment. Okay enough, piss me off tsk. Oh, when was the last time we even took a family photo together? Hmmmmm.
2010 was enjoyable. I think I’ll post about this in another update hahah. Or else it will be really weird to suddenly start getting happy and excited about 2010’s events after all that serious mature paragraphs! Hahahah pardon my boring posts for now!

All i can say is, 2010 totally killed me, like brutally. You know they say 'after a downpour
comes a rainbow', so yeah things will definitely be better this year.

I joined NYJC dragonboat last year but now that i've retained, i decided to refresh
everything, so now, im in the volleyball team instead!
First things first, bon voyage Mabel Kwek!We all miss you, please take good care of yourself in Sydney and study hard!

Everyone's probably feeling the stress already.
Some are confident, some are hesitant, some planned to retain, some planned
their courses in poly, some just mug blindly and hope for the best.
Retaining isn't really a bad decision, it beats scraping through to J2 and dying for A's.
I have friends whose parents actually gave them the permission to retain.
Envy much, i don't mind retaining but due to personal reasons, i can't!
Its hard to believe but yes, unfortunately i'm tackling a huge amount of stress now.
Retaining still seems kinda taboo though, no one wants to retain, they rather scrape
though Promos and have a lousier foundation.
And since no one wants to retain, i find no purpose in staying back alone myself.
Let's see, i have 2 weeks of revision left before the big shit comes.
For this week i will finish up Chemistry and Math.
Next week will be mostly Biology and some Economics.
For your information, yes i believe in miracles.

12days later..
President SR Nathan: I now proclaim the very first YOG, held in Singapore, closed.
The YOG period of 12days had been better than best.
I was part of history-in-making,
I got to skip lessons,
I got to make new friends,
I got to enjoy free flow coke/mineral water/minute maid,
I got free meals,
I got free shirts and pants,
I got to meet the athletes up close,
I got their signatures,
I got to take photos with them,
I got to watch matches for free, etc.
No im not being a suckup but its really an honour to be able to be part of YOG2010.
Its the freaking first YOG!
Probably like once in a lifetime experience too.
Unfortunately though, schoolwork has been stacking up like piles of poop.
Lectures went on as usual too, im like super behind syllabus now.
But still, no regrets yeah!
